SUGGESTION - COMIC SUBMISSION by Kaoyux SUGGESTION - COMIC SUBMISSION by Kaoyux
I think it would be really awesome to have this kind of submission feature for our comics, doujins, magazines or books previews and editorial submissions as well. This way, people can see all pages in one submission instead of wasting time looking for all pages around big galleries or making artists writing and editing links each time they updates a page or a chapter :) Also, I think that some similar system for literature submissions, fics, etc would be awesome for writers and readers as well.

I hope you like this suggestion, I personally think it would be really useful for both sides: artists and art appreciators ^o^

EDIT: OMG *__________* I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! A DD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKU VERY VERY VERY MUCH *litttle-princess for suggesting this submission and `wdwparksgal for featuring it as a Daily Deviation!!!!!!! You both have helped to spread this idea a lil bit more and TOTALLY MADE MY DAY, MY NIGHT, MY WEEK, etc!

Daily Deviation

Given 2011-01-12
SUGGESTION - Comic Submission by =ireal70 litttle-princess states, "I think this is a great idea and would be very useful for those who like to submit comics on deviantart and ireal70 made some interesting details, I'm not sure if it will become reality, although I hope so, but I think it definitely deserves a DD." And I have to add that it would be, also helpful to those of us trying to keep up with an ongoing comic series. Excellent idea showcased in great detail, it could be a real boost to the comic community. ( Suggested by litttle-princess and Featured by WDWParksGal )

To start, you've done a fantastic job at conveying what it is that you would like to see done with DA!

Breaking down the layout of this, into easy to digest sections, keeps this from being a pain on the eyes, and ensures that we will "digest" it in its entirety!

You've done a fantastic job at illustrating these changes- it just looks like you've taken some screen shots of a beta testing version of this feature, which makes it so much easier to envision!

Each feature that you have proposed, could have multiple uses, so it would not be wasted on just one type of submission, and each feature is incredibly useful, valuable, and time saving! Not having to browse for another page in a chapter is a life saver, the ability to show who should receive credit for doing what is an absolute must, and the ability to note the level of completion is an awesome, new, idea!

I mentioned that some of these could be double purposed- noting who all should receive credit on a piece could be expanded for collaboration works or photo manipulations, so that you can show which stock works you used, or who else worked on the piece with you (or if it is a commission, who owns/wrote the character, and who produced the piece); the ability to show level of completion makes sense for any piece, as we see WIPs all of the time; and while the packaging into one submission concept is best suited for comics, I think some of us could put it to use for packaging several pages of, non sequential, sketch books, or as a way to make our own art book out of a collection of our pieces!

So, in short, this is a flawless execution and delivery of a fantastic idea. I do hope that DA will consider the changes, and I think that you've done such a great job working this out, that we will, in fact, see it in the not so distant future! Great Job!

Like so many others, I too have had a hard time reading comics, doujinshi, story chapters, and etc., because of the artist having to submit the pages one at a time. Especially if their gallery is huge. You'd have to find all of the pages yourself and get lost in their gallery, and while that's not really a bad thing at all, it can get frustrating.

Overall, I think this would be an EXCELLENT addition to DA. Its very useful, it doesn't just stick to comic or doujinshi makers, and its something that I'm sure many people would be happy to see. No more getting lost, or asking for links. Just go to it, and its all there. Its a great organization tool, and DA can stand to be more organized when it comes to things like this.

Great work, and I would definitely like this to be used on DA sometime in the near future.

I think they decided to do this with the Motion Book, just in a different way. This would be cool though

it would be cool if every time a new page was added to an unfinished comic in this format, an update would be sent to watchers' message centers.

I wish that they would do this already. My husband is a comic book artist and submits his work to deviantart. We both find the system to be a hassle, at best. Uploading each picture and then continuously copy+pasting the synopsis and editing all the previous/next/first page links for each one is TEDIOUS and can be extremely frustrating. Because of my husband's problems with submitting comics, I'm not going to submit my own comics to deviantart and will take my business for that elsewhere until they come up with a solution like this one.

I just have to say that I really like This deviant's version much better. Not to mention that they submitted theirs first. I feel that this is copying their basic layout quite a bit.

Needed. It is so frustrating to try and read comics on DA because there's always SOMETHING between the pages that you want to read. Often they're also backwards so you start on the back page and click previous to read in the right order.
